Cholula - Tonazintla

Cholula was an important city of pre-Columbian Mesoamerica. The great site of Cholula stands just west of the modern city of Puebla. Its immense pyramid exceeds the Pyramid of the Sun at Teotihuacan in volume. It is the largest pyramid structure in the Americas.

  • BEGINING: Arrival to Cholula; considered the oldest living city in America and is proud to be the largest pyramid in the World, with almost 400 meters.
  • VISITING: The Church of Santa Maria Tonantzintla; built in the late XVIII century; is one of the most beautiful examples of mexican folk baroque style
  • Departure to Puebla City
  • TIME FOR MEAL: A break to eat and do some shopping of talavera of mexican candies (lunch not included).
  • CONTINUING: A city tour where you can admire it´s beautiful colonial architecture and historic buildings, characterized by the use of stone, brick and tile facades. Besides the imposing Cathedral; the largest in Latin America.
  • RETURN TO THE CITY: Leaving Puebla to get back Mexico City
