Normal banking hours are 9:00-17:00, Monday-Friday. Some branch offices open on Saturdays. Ask your hotel about the hours of the closet bank and find out about cashing travelers' checks, since banks generally only change checks in the mornings. Currency exchanges have longer hours and tend to offer better exchange rates and quicker service. There is at least one currency exchange at airports, which is practical if you are going to change small amounts to use to pay the taxi or bus to town.
